It’s official! My image got the cover of ceremony magazine.
Gotta love it! For all those brides out there…..Ceremony magazine is the bomb! Grab a copy to get great ideas for your weddings style, and also get best of the best when it comes to wedding vendors!

There is something to be said about a photographers eye. Not the color, size or shape! But how he/she views the world through the lens. As photographers we all have a unique way to tell a story with our cameras. To me this is the most important factor when connecting with the RIGHT photographer for your big day! I could go on and on about this, but I digress to the picture above. It’s not often I get a picture of me taking a picture, and this one is cool!

Thanks

Chris

More from Jodi and Kyle’s wedding at the Vibianna in Downtown LA.

This super cute guy is just about 10 days younger than my son, Mr. Giddles.
Our Session Wednesday was incredible. Elliot’s parents are going to go bananas when they see this collage I designed. The images of Elliot playing with the phone were great individually, but when unified in a single design……they sing! This one will definitely be a family classic.

Just a couple images from a fantastic session with 7 week old Baby Pilar. She was so small! It brings back memories of the first few months with our little boy! They change so fast it’s incredible. (shameless plug) Get it…. change so fast. The best times to capture your little one’s growth is:

#0 Pregnancy session (duh) best at 7 months, usually before you feel like your going to explode. Can be more lifestyle portrait or more artful black and white.

#1 at birth (ask me about new life sessions) documentary coverage at the hospital capturing the run away train of love running mom and dad over! Lots of black and white.

#2 Two weeks old. Their still tiny. Session in your home. Baby sleeping/Baby awake. Black backdrops are great for images holding your bundle of joy

#3 6-7 months. They start looking like the person they will become, & smile (besides when they are pooping) They are sitting up. Can hold up their head when on their belly. Lots of personality.

(STOP) 1 Year Birthday party coverage. Some family portraits, but mostly documentary coverage. Not cheap, but worth it. See a recent 1st bday slideshow here.

#4 12-14 months (walking…I mean running) I call this the whirlwind session, because it usually consists of me chasing your child around your house or park. Lots of fun…lots of action blur;-)

#5 Annually is good. Blend a session with the rest of the family. Do it at the beach, a park, or in the kitchen while making messy ice cream sundays! You’ll look back when your old and gray & be happy you did it!

(END OF SHAMELESS PLUG)

Enjoy the images,

Chris

First time photographing a wedding at the Vibianna in Downtown LA. It was incredible! I really can’t wait to get back there. Jodi and Kyle were great to work with. Super low key and low stress personalities just grooving through their big day!
It was difficult selecting images for this post. These are only a tiny fraction of the greatness to come.

Jodi and Kyle…..have fun in Bora Bora! Hope you get a chance to see this from your over water bungalow……jealous;-)

Enjoy

Chris

People are always surprised when they hear about wedding photographers getting ripped off during a wedding. When I say ripped off I am referring to their bags of gear, sometimes left unattended. Being of the detail oriented somewhat perinoid persuasion, I always make a great effort have my bag out of harms way. I had a scare at a recent wedding when my assistant moved my bag without letting me know…..my heart just about siezed up. It’s not like I would have lost any images from the wedding. I keep them all in a pouch on my belt. It’s a feeling comparable to making eye contact with a cop while running a red light…….times 10!

Anyhow there was a happy ending, There was no thief, nothing was taken, and I will definitely be keeping my extra gear on lockdown from now on!

Thanks for reading!

Chris

Did you see your whole gallery? Whatcha think?
Your book is going to rock!

Chris,
We love it!!!!!!!!!!!! You are absolutely amazing!!!!!!!! It’s the best thing us or any of our friends and family have seen!! We are working on our favs, but we think you did a great job picking out the best already…..so that makes it pretty easy. We will let you know soon!! Thank you!

The Message of the day….Trust your photographer, and give them freedom the enough time to let their vision turn your wedding into ART!

Have an incredible day!

I can’t believe how fast the summer has come and gone. It’s getting dark by 7 soon to be 6. The weather has actually been cool for a few days, and the kids are back in school.
So when Carin and Doug invited us to roast some dogs & marshmallows down at the fire pits we were all in. It’s been a couple years since we have gone down to HB in the afternoon to snag a fire pit for an evenings festivities. I really miss it. When I was a kid I used to be down there all the time. Now it’s time to pass on the tradition to my little guy. Anyhow, hope this brings back some old memories for you. Have a great week.

Had a great casual session this morning with the Landenbergers. I had the opportunity to photograph their wedding in Oahu in 2006. Now it’s baby time! Little Noah is approaching 8 weeks, so it was high-time to break out the camera.

Looking forward to making some more images of Noah in a few months time.
