This location is amazing for about 1 month a year.  Dirt turns to weeds turns to shrubs,  add rain.  Lots of rain, and shrubs turn to Beautiful yellow flowers covering the landscape.  I plan on bringing another couple back to this same location in the fall when its all dried out after a long hot summer.  Still really beautiful, and totally different look.  I especially like the graphic nature of the environment, with the dense yellows bound by the beautiful blue sky.  Complementary color scheme at it’s finest!  Count on seeing more posts from orange county weddings in the near future!

Enjoy the images!

Today was my first time making portraits at the UCLA Japanese gardens. I plan on returning for another portrait session or wedding very soon. Anita and Scott are going to flip when they see the entire session! The Hannah Japanese garden is incredibly lush and dense, with opportunity for incredible images everywhere! You can see a few more examples of other gardens on my main website.

Here is a sneak peak.

Kate and Grant, my Colorado couple! I had a fantastic time finally getting to meet Grant during our portrait session in Laguna Beach last week. Also really looking forward to their wedding at crystal cove state park in april. Our photo session was super casual and laid back. I was really focusing on different textures at the beach like rocks, sand, and different formations in the tide pools. Since both Kate and Grant our Geologists, I’m sure the images won’t fall on blind eyes.
Enjoy the images

This one was cutting it close! Michael and Kathy are scheduled to exchange vows this saturday..Yes that is tomorrow! I’m looking forward to capturing their celebration at the US Grant in San Diego. We just barely squeezed this E session in after they came into town before the wedding. This was photographed at one of my favorite beach locations in Southern California.
Enjoy the images.

Just received a great postcard from Hoa and Jason today and realized I needed to get on the ball and start posting some of my favorite images from our session in Maui last week. Special thanks to Lori from Tropical Maui weddings for tipping me off to a secret local spot for some incredible photographs. Our photo session led us through volcanic sugar cane fields to an incredible derelict sugar processing facility. I have no idea how long the structure has been abandoned. Giant trees and vines griped tightly on crumbling walls as they slowly took back any sign of man. I just love the seeing how the balance with man and nature has been shifted. The images are striking. I hope you like them also.
Thanks for viewing!

OH YEAH ALMOST FORGOT THE PAINT-BALLERS!

It has been a few months since I have photographed a little ones birthday party. That ended last weekend when I had the opportunity to capture Little Noah’s first birthday in Huntington Beach. I really don’t have to say it, but I will. Noah is crazy cute! You will probably think so too. Kids crack me up. They all react to their environment in different ways. Noah cried when it was time for cake with the group watching and singing happy b-day, but the images are priceless.
Hope you like them too.

I just finished processing the images from Casey and Charles session and had to go 2.0 on the blog. I thought these images needed to go up. They really captured Casey and Charles fun dynamic.
Cheers!

I must say I’m really looking forward to Casey and Charles Big Day next year! Their wedding is going to rock. Our urban engagement session in Long Beach was a blast! Thanks Charles for bringing some cool Props! Love the boom box. Also I can’t take credit for the blur shopping cart shot….It was Charles idea. Just happy I was there to capture the fun!

Enjoy the images!

After talking on the phone a couple times with Kristen last week, we decided on an engagement session with an urban feel. I really find it interesting how we (as humans;) paint a mental picture in our minds of people we speak with on the phone. Actually, what’s really cool is when the person in no way fits your image. Yesterday was my first time meeting Kristen and Dave, and this was one of those times! I was definitely digging their style, and felt their connection instantly. My favorite kind of engagement session.

Enjoy the images!
