Feeling Completely recharged after spending most of last week chilling at Jalama Beach on the central coast with my Family. We had a long caravan with My brother Danny and I fully loaded with both of our tent trailers in tow, for the slow drive up the coast. We spent the majority of the week playing with our kids and hanging out chilling on the beach. Jalama Beach is a little off the beaten track. Rolling amber hills with sparse oaks standing guard meet the rocky cliffs of the pacific. It is truly spectacular to see! I had the opportunity to sneak off for a couple runs along the bluffs. There were Hawks, deer, cows, lizards, seals, great white sharks……..okay no great whites, but you get the idea! Nature was everywhere. So different from my typical runs around signal hill in Long Beach.
We also had the chance to stop bye the Buttonwood family winery just outside of Solvang. We had a great time Wine tasting, and picnicking in their gardens for an amazing family lunch.

What an amazing time to walk into someones home/life to help them remember the little moments that change so fast.  Gotta say Thanks to the canon family for having me out to make these special images of their family.  Definitely not your typical Orange County Portrait Session!

This location is amazing for about 1 month a year.  Dirt turns to weeds turns to shrubs,  add rain.  Lots of rain, and shrubs turn to Beautiful yellow flowers covering the landscape.  I plan on bringing another couple back to this same location in the fall when its all dried out after a long hot summer.  Still really beautiful, and totally different look.  I especially like the graphic nature of the environment, with the dense yellows bound by the beautiful blue sky.  Complementary color scheme at it’s finest!  Count on seeing more posts from orange county weddings in the near future!

Lets welcome my latest Nephew Ari Klatzker into the world!  Born 8 pounds even & 20 inches long!  This baby Session has waited long enough to be posted on my blog!   I really love these New Life Sessions.  It’s just such a massive idea…concept…situation, when you bring another life into this world.  It really brings me back to the birth of my sons.   Incredible!  I can’t wait to design Ari’s Birth Announcements.

We kept it mellow this year, and decided against having U2 play for Gideons 3rd Birthday party. Just a little down home fiesta with family and a few friends. Today was my first time making portraits at the UCLA Japanese gardens. I plan on returning for another portrait session or wedding very soon. Anita and Scott are going to flip when they see the entire session! The Hannah Japanese garden is incredibly lush and dense, with opportunity for incredible images everywhere! You can see a few more examples of other gardens on my main website.

Kate and Grant, my Colorado couple! I had a fantastic time finally getting to meet Grant during our portrait session in Laguna Beach last week. Also really looking forward to their wedding at crystal cove state park in april. Our photo session was super casual and laid back. I was really focusing on different textures at the beach like rocks, sand, and different formations in the tide pools. Since both Kate and Grant our Geologists, I’m sure the images won’t fall on blind eyes.

Really looking forward to shooting Melaura and Donny’s wedding in San Gabriel later this year. We decided to hit the beach for a portrait session in Laguna beach at Sunset last week. We started at 7 Degrees in Laguna canyon and slowly made our way into Laguna Beach proper for some cool shots reflecting the laid back lifestyle and unique architecture. We then moved down to the beach for some great dramatic portraits in the tidepools as the sun set.

Super fun engagement session with Aileen and Matt right in my backyard at the historic rancho los alamitos historic ranch right next to long beach state university.
I’m really looking forward to photographing their upcoming wedding at the Japanese Gardens in Long Beach just a few blocks away! The images look great! Can’t wait to design their engagement album!

These two have some serious chemistry. Had a really fun session with Paul and Cheryl at a great park in orange county. I love sessions where the romantic fire is burning hot. The images really just show this couples connection.
